Statement from Barbara Lee on the passing of Mayor Tom Menino

“The City of Boston and our entire state lost a giant with Mayor Tom Menino’s passing today. He was a friend, a leader, an icon, and my hero. My heart goes out to his loving wife, Angela, his family, his former staff, and his entire extended family of Boston. What I most admire and will always remember about Mayor Menino is his steadfast commitment to equality. He worked to create a level playing field for every family in every neighborhood and ensured women have a seat at the table. May his values continue to inspire us.”
