Lauren Perlik advances the Barbara Lee Political Office’s mission to engage more women in politics through researching political candidates, tracking media coverage, and providing administrative support to the entire BLPO team. Lauren has enjoyed working towards gender equality in politics and is proud to work for a Political Office that advances the involvement of pro-choice, liberal Democratic women in politics.
Prior to her current position, Lauren Perlik worked as an Assistant Team Advisor at the National Student Leadership Conference for Law and Advocacy. In this position, Lauren taught high school students the basics of a Mock Trial simulation and the fundamentals of leadership.
Lauren is a second year student at Northeastern University, pursuing a combined degree in Political Science and International Affairs. After her time at the Barbara Lee Family Foundation, Lauren will be studying abroad in London at the London School of Economics and Political Science through the Hansard Society Scholars Program.
Who inspires you?
My uncle. He’s overcome a heart attack, a leg amputation, and much more. Despite these medical setbacks, he never gives up. He inspires me to do the same and continue to work towards gender equality despite the setbacks our patriarchal society creates.
