Erin Souza-Rezendes leads the Barbara Lee Political Office’s communications team, where she conceptualizes and executes strategic communications plans, develops messages, and manages media relations. Since joining the office in 2012, Erin has brought regional and national attention to Barbara Lee’s expertise in women’s political engagement through placements in media outlets such as MSNBC, The Boston Globe, Glamour, Salon, Politico, and Roll Call.
Erin has a decade of government and communications experience, including legislative work, public relations, and journalism. Before joining the Barbara Lee Political Office, Erin served the Massachusetts legislature as Staff Director to former House Majority Leader James Vallee and Staff Director to the Joint Committee on Veterans and Federal Affairs. She also worked as a lifestyle journalist for Boston-based and national publications, covering everything from fashion shows to food-focused events.
Erin earned a Master’s degree in journalism from Harvard University and a Bachelor’s degree in political science and print journalism from Boston University.
