Sue Minter is a proven leader who has dedicated her career to the people of Vermont. Her record of success includes tenures as Vermont’s Secretary of Transportation, Deputy Secretary of Transportation, Irene Recovery Officer, and as a State Representative.
Sue helped lead Vermont’s recovery in the wake of catastrophic flooding from Tropical Storm Irene in August 2011. At the Agency of Transportation, she helped oversee the rebuilding of over 500 miles of damaged roads and bridges within four months. As Vermont’s Irene Recovery Officer from January 2012 to February 2013, Sue worked with residents, state agencies and local businesses to help get our state back on its feet.
Sue’s leadership and success during Irene led to her being sought out to help Colorado with its own disaster recovery in the wake of extreme flooding in 2013.
In 2014, Sue represented Governor Shumlin on the White House Task Force on Climate Preparedness and Resilience, where she co-chaired the Subcommittee on Disaster Recovery and Resilience.
Sue was elected four times as a State Representative in the Vermont legislature from 2004–2010. Known as a bi-partisan problem solver, she represented Waterbury, Duxbury, Huntington and Buel’s Gore.
Sue’s family roots in business taught her the value of hard work, being frugal, and perseverance. Sue will get the job done for Vermont families and make Vermont a place where families and business can thrive.
